Secret #120 Keep a Firm Grasp on Your Free Time

Secret #120 Keep a Firm Grasp on Your Free Time

Salvador_Dali__s_Melting_Clock_by_lianuFavorite activities of Americans in ’07, according to a Harris Poll, were
* reading
* TV watching
* spending time with friends and family.

All 3 have dropped since ’04:
* 35% cited reading in ’04, down to 29% in ’07
* TV watching dropped from 21% to 18%
* spending time with friends and family fell from 20% to 14%.

The question is: To WHAT are we losing our free time?

What do YOU think? Where is all our free time going?

Secret #121 Ride the Endorphin Rush

Secret #121 Ride the Endorphin Rush

stimulate_brainBrain research shows that when you complete a task on your to do list AND take a second to actually cross it off... your brain releases endorphins into your blood stream... thus you experience a physical and psychological high or lift.

So why not ride the endorphin rush right now? Here's how:

1. Create a list of all that you need/want to do today.
2. Prioritize the list by asking yourself, "If I could only do one of these items today, which one would it be?"
3. Place the number 1 next to that item... and then re-ask the question about the remaining items on your list.
4. Once you have everything on your list prioritized... start at #1 and work at it until you complete it.
5. Once you complete #1, take a second to cross it off your list... sit back... and ride the endorphin rush.

Or—If the above doesn't work—you can go to Starbucks and drink a 16 shot Americano... that ought to do it.

But whatever you do, don't cross anything off your to do list AND drink a 16 shot Americano... I just can't be held responsible for what that might do to you!

Secret #122 The Worst Use of Your Time

Secret #122 The Worst Use of Your Time

sticky_notes
The very worst use of your time is doing something extremely well that need not be done at all.

Think about it.

Are you doing anything well that need not be done at all?

What do you need to to about it?

Will you?

Secret #124 The High Cost of Joyriding on the WWW

Secret #124 The High Cost of Joyriding on the WWW

life-wastedThe Internet is a vehicle.

IF you know where you want to go, a vehicle is a very helpful tool to get you there.

On the other hand, joyriding in this day and age will cost you more time and money than you think.

There's a difference between using the Internet... and letting the Internet use you.

Before you jump into the vehicle of the Internet to cruise down the road of the world wide web, you should consider this question:

Do you know where you want to go on the Internet today... or are you just joyriding?

Secret #125 Not Every Opportunity Is an Obligation

Secret #125 Not Every Opportunity Is an Obligation

Picture4_002Every opportunity people give you—even ministry opportunities in the church—should not automatically be understood as an obligation from God. There are so many good things people want you to do with your short life, you will never be able to do them all. And if you try to do them all, you will miss God’s best for you. If you miss God’s best, you will not finish this life well. Hence, the ability to determine the difference between what is good and what is God’s best for you is a powerful advantage in life.

The question is: How can YOU figure out what's merely a good opportunity and what's a God opportunity?

To answer that question, I encourage you to observe the decision-making genius of Jesus.
